CLOTHING DISTRIBUTION OPERATION

IN FAVOR OF DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES

8.png

With the support of Paul Marciano co-founder of the famous brand GUESS, 4,600 garments were generously offered, in favor of women in very precarious conditions. The Guess brand donated five pallets of clothing in 2019, samples of Guess brand creations, to be distributed to those who need it most during the Christmas holidays  in French Polynesia.

The Te Ti'aturi Nei Foundation in collaboration with the Guess Brand to sign an agreement with the Air Tahiti Nui Company aimed at transporting clothing goods for families in need in Polynesia.

These large packages, with a total weight of 1,482 kg, arrived in Tahiti on October 16, coming from Los Angeles.

They were transported by plane from the United States on flight TN111 on October 10, 2019, free of charge, thanks to the airline Air Tahiti Nui.

We also want to thank Manutea Leboucher, Director of the Freight Forwarder "Pheonix International Tahiti", who accompanies us in customs procedures, and offers us the costs if related.

Two partners without whom we would not have been able to carry out this great operation during this Christmas period.

The Foundation has benefited from the support of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, The Minister of Health Jacques Raynal and the Director of Cabinet Maiana Bambridge, have generously provided a room to allow the storage of clothes, as well as for the preparation packages for beneficiary women and girls.

During the months of October and November, the clothes were sorted by categories by size, and those according to the lists of beneficiaries that we had drawn up for the distribution of these clothes.

A few days before the distribution, a team of volunteers came to help the foundation to sort the boxes by municipality, in order to save time in the distribution.

Several categories of clothing that have been distributed in order to offer 1,239 young girls and women in very poor conditions in Tahiti, a beautiful Christmas present.

Elegant clothing, which can also be used in their reintegration process, for possible job interviews, but also and above all, will give them the opportunity, too, to feel beautiful and considered.

Part of the packaging contained warm clothing. The Marciano Foundation gave them to the Te Rima O Te Here association, volunteers who help care for "medical evacuees" - patients who are sent to metropolitan France for hospital treatment, but who are often not prepared for its winter climate .

It was with an emotional heart that its distributions were made, touched by these families with precarious living conditions.

The young girls and women were moved, their sparkling eyes, filled with lights by the reception of these Christmas gifts that we gave them, a small gesture, but enormous in their eyes.

We are so touched to have been able to offer these families these gifts, and touched by the thanks that we have received from all sides.
