MATAIVA TEEN WORK CAMP DEVICE

For the 4th edition of the teen work camp (CCA), the Polynesian Union for Youth agreed on a partnership with the Te Ti'aturi Nei - Paul and Mareva Marciano Foundation, organized by the Polynesian Union for Youth, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The Device for the teen work Camp is a break from the rest on the island of Mataiva, designed for an out-of-school or out-of-school audience and prey to social problems, aged 14 to 17 years and coming from priority neighborhoods. The particularity of this stay is the setting up of voluntary work sites, workshops for initiation to various trades and finally citizen projects,
The goal of the stay is to give each young person the means to regain self-confidence and to question their future. This project aims to bring young people to be involved in their lives by investing in particular in a socio-professional project or back to school .
The objectives of this system are:
- Offer an alternative to the conventional national education system and find a professional and / or school career more suited to the profile of young people;
- To restore confidence in these young people who are dropping out of school or in a situation of dropping out of school;
- Work on skills not acquired within the national school;
- Carry out follow-up after the CCA stay and guarantee reintegration for young people in care.
